Chemical free Deodorant Balm - recipe

Ingredients

  • 1-2 empty, small containers
  • 30g coconut oil
  • 3g beeswax
  • 15g fine baking soda (optional)
  • 15g cornstarch
  • 15 drops essential oil (optional)

Instructions

  • Boil the small, empty containers in a water bath for 1-2 minutes. Then let them cool down and dry.
  • Put coconut oil and beeswax in a small pot. Place it in a water bath and heat slowly until the contents have melted. Make sure that no water gets into the oil mixture.
  • Lift the pot out of the water bath and dry it. Stir in the baking soda and cornstarch. Then add the essential oil.
  • Note: Both baking soda and essential oil can irritate sensitive skin. You may be able to use less baking soda than suggested in the recipe and do without the essential oil. Or you leave out both. Coconut oil also has an anti-bacterial effect and is suitable as a gentle deodorant.
  • Pour the mixture into the dry containers, close and let cool. Store the unopened containers in the refrigerator as long as they are not needed.
